Centro Woodcroft – Cnr Richmond Rd & Woodcroft Dr, Woodcroft NSW 2767

Overall: Basic but does the job. Nappy change, feed, toilet.

Good Points: Clear signage. Easy to find. Wall mounted, fold out change table. Nappy bins. Separate bench and sink for food prep. Separate sink for hand washing. Hand dryer. Mural on the wall. Toilet cubicle with locking door.

Bad Points: Narrow corridor. Push-to-open door. Plastic chairs. No safety straps on change table. Change table a bit grubby. No paper towel. No microwave.

It was a stinking hot day when we headed out to visit some friends. When we got in the car at 10am, it was already 30degrees! This is always a pretty good indication of a blistering day. As you can imagine, when we saw the Centro shopping centre further up the road, we were very happy. Time for an air conditioned break!

The shopping centre is super easy to find and has a basic parent room with all the essentials. It’s all on ground level, meaning there’s no steps to navigate with the pram. Before we forget, be aware that the carpark is out in the open. There’s no shade at all, so be careful during Spring & Summer, especially when you’re putting kids back in the car. Those belt buckles are going to be scaldingly hot!

Now back to the centre. The parent room is really easy to find – love that!! The signs are easy to spot, showing you where to find the toilets and parent room. It’s at the far end of the centre, just past Coles. Follow the signs down the hallway, then turn left and keep following until you see the sign for the female toilets and parent room. Turn right down a more narrow corridor (not good for double prams at all), and the door to the parent room is on the left. It’s not an automatic door so you’ll need to be a bit creative to get it open and get inside the room. Also, the door doesn’t lock from the inside. Make sure you bring a cover up if you’re going to be feeding in here.

Inside the parent room, it’s not the most gorgeous set up but it has the basics. There’s a toilet cubicle, with one loo. The door on the toilet locks, but it’s not big enough to fit a pram.

For feeding, there’s two plastic chairs against one of the walls. The chairs are next to the fold out change table. They’re not built for comfort or feeding at all, but if you need to feed, you need to feed. You’d probably be more comfortable across the car park in Maccas.

For hand washing, there’s a sink which is a little high for little ones to reach, but with some help they’ll be ok. There’s only a hand dryer, so be prepared for a loud noise! The soap is on the opposite wall, next to the other sink on the bench. This other bench looks like it’s where you’d put the nappy bag, shopping, or prep food but there’s no microwave. BYO bottle warmer.

The most important part is the change area. There’s a wall mounted fold out change table, just next to the plastic chairs. It’s not terribly clean and the safety straps are missing, so remember to keep one hand on your little one at all times and wipe the table before and after use. BYO change mat.
