Overall: Everything you need! Clean and well equipped. Feed, change, rest and play.
Good Points: Private feeding cubicles. Emergency buttons. Chairs. Side tables. Play panels. Separate sinks for food prep and baby change areas. Microwave, filtered water and soap dispensers. Baby wipes warmer. Nappy disposal bins. Paper towels. Big and little toilets, with matching sinks. Automatic sliding door at entry. Well sign posted.
Bad Points: Curtains for privacy (proper doors provide more security). Not much else really to say that’s a negative!
Here’s another Stockland success! They really do have the best parent rooms we’ve ever found. This one is yet another lovely place to look after the needs of your little ones (and have a bit of a rest yourself).
The sign of a good parent room is signs showing you where to find it. There are signs throughout the shopping centre directing you to the parent room, so you’ll have no trouble finding it. Just follow the signs and arrows and you’ll get to the parent room.
The next great feature is the push button auto sliding door. Yay!!!! No having to use your body weight to push open the door while you manouver the pram inside. The big push button is great fun for toddlers too! They feel like they’re being helpful when they can give the button a whack for mum and the door opens.
Inside the parent room, there’s 2 private feeding cubicles. Privacy is provided by curtains, which aren’t ideal (actual doors would be better), but this is the only negative we found. Each cubicle has a comfy clean armchair, sidetable, emergency button and Play Panel. These panels are fabulous to keep bigger kids entertained while little ones are being fed.
When it comes to feeding and changing nappies, this parent room has kept both areas separate. Hooray for separate sinks and benches!!!! No worry about cross contamination here. You can wash your hands after changing nappies at the sink provided in the nappy change bench. You can also wash your hands before and after food prep, using the sink at the food prep bench. This is fantastic. The nappy change bench has a wonderful fully stocked baby wipes warming unit. Warm wipes on little bottoms during winter are much friendlier than cold wipes. Tucked away in cupboards underneath the nappy change bays are the nappy disposal bins. This helps keep the place free from yukky smells.
For those little ones who are learning to use the toilet, there are both adult and child size toilets in the bathroom. Each has it’s own toilet paper dispenser, plus a sink at the right height for each.
Finding a well equipped, comfortable, clean parent room can make your whole day, and it definitely made ours when we found this one. When parents and carers feel relaxed and at ease, it rubs off on the children. When we can easily find a parent room that perfectly suits the needs of our little families, it makes for a much more enjoyable outing – no matter what the purpose of the trip. So once again, a big congrats to Stockland for creating another fabulous parent room.
