Waratah Village Shopping Centre – 91-111 Turton Rd, Waratah NSW 2298

Overall: Basic – nappy change only in disabled toilet.

Good Points: All on ground level. Wall mounted fold out baby change table. Sink and soap. Door locks from the inside.

Bad Points: No facilities for private feeding or preparing baby food. No proper nappy disposal bin. Horrible noisy dyson hand dryer. Sink and toilet too high for little kids to reach unassisted. Inaccurate signs promising a Mothers Room, when there’s only a change table in the disabled toilet.

These photos were taken by my lovely hubby. The search for the parent room started out promising, but ended up being a big fat disappointment. There were signs in the shopping village indicating a Mothers Room. Now an ordinary person would reasonably expect to find a separate room for feeding and changing babies. Not here!!!! The ‘Mothers Room’ is actually just a wall mounted fold out baby change table in the disabled toilet.
To find this baby change table, head to the corner of the shopping village with Coles and the food shops. Follow the signs (that eventually give you hope of finding a separate mothers/parent room) and you’ll find the disabled toilet with a baby change sign on the front of it.
Now if any mums in the area have been in the female toilets there and have discovered it holds a mothers  room oasis, please let us know. We’re assuming it doesn’t, but would love to know for sure.

The change table is clean and functional. The nappy disposal bin is a general swing lid waste paper bin. The sink, soap and toilet are probably a tad too high for kids to use without assistance. And the most horrid part is the awful noisy dyson hand dryer. Those things are so loud!!!!

Basically, it’s just a nappy change facility here for parents and babies. But if you do know where the mythical mothers room is hiding, please do tell.
